Sunday 11th August 2024
Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich
We walked the grounds of the Old Royal Naval Hospital and went up to the Observatory Hill, exploring the foundations of one and two-point perspective, drawing the Queen's House front and back, the colonnade and the breathtaking view towards Canary Wharf.
Drawing the Queen's house as the main subject, using a one-point perspective.
Setting out the straight-faced elements and determining the vanishing point.
Rulers can help to verify the accuracy of perspective.
Drawing the Queen's house and the colonnade, using a two-point perspective.
Use of two-point perspective with the vanishing points located outside the page.
The epic view of Greenwich and the Isle of Dogs. Mainly a one-point perspective for the College and a multiple-point perspective for the Canary Wharf towers.
